Yoga

Learn to come home to the body and the Self.  As a certified Kripalu yoga teacher, I incorporate yoga along with other therapy techniques, at the client’s request.  Many people are currently exploring the benefits of yoga, especially on a physical level.  But yoga as a resource for healing all levels - body, mind, spirit and emotions - has enormous potential.  Sometimes people are able to gain a feeling of safety and comfort in their own body for the first time.  Beginning from a place of compassion and acceptance, yoga offers the opportunity to become more present with oneself, and learn techniques “on the mat” which can then be integrated into daily life.  Learning to tune inward and listen to the body, we become able to differentiate between the mind’s habitual responses vs. the body’s true messages.  By tuning in in this way, we are more able to open and expand channels of energy, letting go of what has been stuck – on a body level as well as on an emotional level, often allowing us enhanced connection with our innate wisdom and our higher self.  Kripalu yoga offers practical tools to foster psychological and spiritual growth, allowing us to awaken to who we are and who we can be.

I have been a practitioner of Kripalu yoga since 1994, and of Kundalini yoga since 2006.  Yoga therapy is conducted individually and in groups.
